In your moments of darkness,
Borrow light from my inventory.

In your moments of weakness,
Mooch strength from my story.

In your moments of stress,
Bum passion from my poetry.

When you’re scared and afraid,
Put an artificial smile on your face.

When you feel short-changed and betrayed,
Reach for a long-distance embrace.

When you’re drowning in doubt,
Take hope from my cupboards.

When you’re feeling lonely and left out,
Drink deeply from my well of words.

The rules of life stipulate:
Dress up, show up, participate.
Always give it your best shot.
Be a player, not just vegetate.
You never know how long you've got.
Discover and follow you passion,
Wether it's in or out of fashion.
Do the very best you can.
Be above the barbs, stings
And insults of humanity's clan
That living in society brings,
Like assaults on your values.
Usually it's the little things
That make you sing the blues
And tug at your heartstrings.
Whatever life offers, you can refuse,
Refuse to take the easy way out.
You always have a chance to choose
A life that's worthwhile throughout.
Life always gives you chances
To be bigger than circumstances.

What a miracle it must be

To be me, really me!

I have a great ancestry,
An impeccable pedigree

With heroes in my family tree.

That’s why I must be 

The very best of me,

And follow my passion of poetry

As an expression of a higher me.

That way my life can serve to be

A guide to those who follow me.

What a blessing it must be,

What a gift it must be!
